But I'm really excited about reading these books! The one below called Kurt Cobain Journals, is his actual journal written by himself. I'm a little hesitant about reading this one, only because it's an invasion of his privacy.
Here are just some lines from an editorial review from Amazon.com, that makes me want to read it but tells me not to at the same time...
The first publication of Kurt Cobain's diaries, which were found after his death in 1994. Genuinely moving, provocative and candid, and surprisingly funny, pieces of writing which, as a whole, provide a unique account of the rise and fall of a great popular artist and icon.
'Don't read my diary when I'm gone,' begin this alternately - or perhaps simultaneously - compelling and juvenile journal. Of course Kurt didn't mean it. Why else keep a diary? Indeed, in the very next line, he says, 'I'm going to work now. Please read my diary. Look through my things and figure me out.'
I want to forget what the editor has written that Kurt didn't mean it. How would he know? I don't understand why in the very next line, he tells us to read it. Which is the sarcastic line? Or is there any sarcasm at all?
For those of you thinking, just read it. I think only Cobain and Nirvana fans would understand my hesitance on this one. Cobain committed suicide in 1994, he didn't want to be a "commercial mechanism"...But I'm thinking, for the fans who truly want to understand him, who really love and adore him, this isn't about the commercialism. If I do decide to read this, I'd read it with the utmost respect and sincerity.
